Tolerances
Tight tolerances add inspection and setup work. Apply them only where the assembly needs them.
Start with STEP or STP, then select from the material family, finish, heat treatment, and inspection options that fit the part. Exact grades and availability are confirmed during human review.
A request outside this scope is reviewed honestly; availability is not assumed until confirmed in the quote.
A CNC quote is shaped by more than part volume. We review the specific features that change tooling, setups, cycle time, and inspection effort.
Tight tolerances add inspection and setup work. Apply them only where the assembly needs them.
Small radii require smaller tools. Larger radii usually machine more efficiently when the design allows.
Deep pockets, tall walls, and features reached from several sides can increase tool reach and setups.
Critical features and reporting requirements should be identified before the quote is finalized.
Preferred source for the part geometry.
Add datums, fits, threads, finish, and critical tolerances that are not defined by the model.
Tell us what the part interfaces with and which features are allowed to change.
As-machined, blasted, anodized, polished, coated, plated, or passivated routes are reviewed against the selected material.
Upload STEP or STP for the CNC source. Add STL as a companion mesh when it exists; both files can remain in the same project packet.
